About Lyceum

Lyceum is building a user-centric GPU cloud from the ground up. Our mission is to make high-performance computing seamless, accessible, and tailored to the needs of modern AI and ML workloads. We're not just deploying infrastructure, we’re designing and building our own large-scale GPU clusters from scratch. If you've ever wanted to help shape a cloud platform from day one, this is your moment

The Role: GPU Cloud Engineer (Core Infrastructure)

We’re looking for a GPU Cloud Engineer to join our core product team and help build the foundation of our infrastructure software. You’ll work on the low-level systems that power our fast, performant, and privacy-conscious GPU cloud, directly shaping how AI workloads are run, scheduled, and secured across thousands of GPUs.

This is a central role in our core product development. We’re tackling a broad range of infrastructure challenges and don’t expect you to have experience with all of the below points. If one or more of the areas spark your interest, we’d love to talk.

What we are working on

  • Scheduling and orchestration of compute jobs in a high-paced environment

  • Security & privacy features to ensure isolation and safety across users

  • Reducing container startup times in the cloud

  • Improving model loading speed for a broad range of use-cases

  • GPU fractionalisation, adaptive load balancing and cross-GPU workload allocation

You’ll collaborate closely with our core engineering and hardware teams to design and implement solutions that balance performance, reliability, and user experience for an entire data center.

What We’re Looking For

  • High sense of ownership, you like building from the ground up

  • Urgency and comfort working in fast-moving environments

  • Curiosity and creativity in solving infrastructure challenges

Bonus Points

  • Experience scaling compute infrastructure at a neocloud provider or high-performance computing org

  • Familiarity with GPU workloads or ML/AI job patterns

  • A background in SRE, platform engineering, or distributed systems is a strong plus

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Slurm, or similar orchestration frameworks

Why Join Us

  • Build from zero: This is a rare opportunity to join a startup at the earliest stages and shape not just the product, but the foundation of the company. You’ll have real ownership over what you build and the freedom to do things right from the beginning.

  • Hard, meaningful problems: We’re tackling some of the most interesting challenges in cloud infrastructure, scheduling, and performance optimization, at the intersection of hardware and AI.

  • World-class hardware: You’ll be working directly with cutting-edge GPU hardware and helping build the most performant compute platforms in Europe.

  • Everything else: Compensation, equity, healthcare, team events etc – it’s our job to make sure you have everything you need to do your thing!
